Probably, as they say he was born in Scotland, 387 AD, he was the son of a deacon and the grandson of a priest.(seems laws were a bit different back then)

He was captured by pirate's at the tender age of 16 and sold into slavery . For 6 years he drempt of returning to Ireland, and in a dream one night an Angel encouraged him to do so.

He was an unsettled lad and entered a monastery and became a priest, which is where he took the name Patricius. The Pope sent him to Ireland as a missionary in 430 AD. Patrick and his company traveled all around Ireland, preaching and converting.

In 433 on March 26th Easter Sunday actually, he used the Shamrock to represent the Holy Trinity- 3 leaves yet it was still ONE leaf and that's how Ireland's National symbol came about.(so the story goes)?

He died March 17th, 464..at the age? 77 ,which was a ripe old age back then.

He, as legend has it, drove all the snakes from Ireland, into the sea (to date there are no venemious snakes there).

Leprechans are Irish fairies-who make shoes and have hidden treasures. If you catch one you must always keep your eyes on him or he will vanish, thus no treasure.

The Blarney Stone (according to legend) says, an old woman cast a spell on the stone to reward a King who saved her from drowning. Kissing the stone while under the spell the King was able to speak with great sweetness and very convicingly.
